How Long Does a Panel Upgrade Take?

Understanding the project timeline, from the first call to the final inspection, helps you plan for the upgrade with confidence.

One of the most common questions we hear is, “How long will my power be out?” While the actual hands-on installation is typically completed in a single day, the entire project has several phases. Here's a clear breakdown of the timeline you can expect for a standard panel upgrade in Las Vegas.

1

Phase 1: Consultation & Permitting

Duration: 1-3 Weeks

This initial phase involves administrative work. After our free consultation and your approval of the proposal, we submit the permit application to Clark County or your city's building department. The time it takes for the permit to be approved can vary depending on their current workload, but 1-3 weeks is typical.

2

Phase 2: Installation Day

Duration: 6-10 Hours

This is the main event. Once the permit is approved, we schedule your installation. Our team will handle the entire replacement on this day.

Power Outage Duration: 4-8 Hours

During the installation, your home's power will be completely shut off for safety. This typically lasts between 4 and 8 hours. We recommend planning ahead for this disruption.

3

Phase 3: City/County Inspection

Duration: 1-3 Business Days Post-Installation

After the installation is complete, we schedule the final inspection with the city or county inspector. This usually happens within a few business days. We coordinate this for you. Once the inspector signs off on the work, the project is officially complete.
